Coinciding with spring, and in order to promote the renewal of more efficient equipment heating systems, the European LabelPackA + project has launched an information campaign called ” #CheckYourHeating “, which will run from May to mid-June.
This campaign, aimed at consumers, aims to promote awareness of the labeling of energy efficiency for heating systems and water heaters, mandatory in all countries of the European Union since the autumn of 2015.
Within LabelPackA + have discovered that among consumers there is still some ignorance of energy labeling and that this is a criterion that is hardly taken into account when making the purchase decision, as explained by Pedro Dias, general secretary of Solar Heat Europe, organization that directs the project.
The label informs about the energy-efficient heating devices with the known colorful energy scales from “G” to “A +++”. Only highly efficient devices or systems that incorporate renewable energy can produce “A +” or more. “Since there is little demand from the end consumer, only very few installers use the label in their marketing for energy-saving heating systems,” says David Wedepohl, CEO of the German Solar Association.
