Solar Heat Europe/ESTIF is the voice of the Solar Thermal industry association in Brussels. Its mission is to promote solar heat as a key technology for the decarbonisation of heating and cooling in Europe and to support the rapid growth solar heat in the energy transition. Solar Heat Europe members include producers of solar thermal collectors, project developers, research institutes as well as members from the full value chain, present and active across Europe.

Policy Intern

Solar Heat Europe/ESTIF is looking for a dynamic person who will be supporting the Policy Team.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Stakeholder mapping, database management and support to introduce Solar Heat Europe to the newly elected MEPs.
  • Monitor and report on relevant EU policy developments with a specific focus on heating and cooling, energy, and renewables.
  • Support the advocacy activities of Solar Heat Europe, including joint initiatives with partner organisations.
  • Support the National Associations’ advocacy on the transposition of the relevant Fit for 55 proposals, notably RED, EED, and EPBD.
  • Contribute to the internal activities of Solar Heat Europe, notably the Working Groups and the support to members.
  • Assist on the policy-related aspects of EU projects.
  • Support the communication activities of Solar Heat Europe.

The candidate should have :

  • A relevant university degree, preferably in political sciences or EU studies.
  • A solid understanding of EU policymaking and political system.
  • A genuine interest in renewable energy and energy decarbonisation.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Good writing and communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • Excellent level of English (other EU languages are an asset).
  • EU citizenship.
