Advancing the implementation of the Renewable Energy Directive – Are you REDI4HEAT?

REDI4HEAT is an EU-funded project that aims to support heating and cooling decarbonisation, which accounts for a large proportion of energy consumption in European households.

The project’s goal is to assist member states and local authorities in complying with the Renewable Energy Directive (RED) by identifying current strategies’ shortcomings and providing recommendations for improvement. The final goal is to accelerate the adoption of renewable energy solutions in heating and cooling to meet European decarbonisation targets.

After more than a year since it started, the project is gaining momentum and increasing its visibility. The new promotional video of REDI4HEAT is now available online and it’s highlighting the importance of heat decarbonisation and the solutions needed to achieve European energy and climate goals.

Additionally, our project partners will gather in Athens on October 23rd for the ‘European Energy Network (EnR) Thinking Group Workshop 2023’. This workshop is designed for national energy agencies, with the aim of validating the results of the assessment of national measures, notably National Energy and Climate Plans (NECPs), and their impact in promoting renewable heating and cooling.

During the same timeframe, Solar Heat Europe will also participate in the Standard and Certification Week, which includes the 35th meeting of the Solar Keymark Network, the CEN Technical Committee 312 on solar thermal, and a meeting of the Global Solar Certification Network (GSCN).
