A quarter of a century ago, the Solar Thermal Energy Sector met in Europe under the banner of the European Solar Thermal Industry Federation (ESTIF). Since then, the association expresses the ambitions of the sector to the European authorities and advocates a greater recognition of thermal applications in solar energy. The latter play an important role in the energy transition: there are no fewer than 10 million solar thermal installations in Europe. Since heat accounts for about half of Europe’s energy needs, solar thermal solutions are only gaining in importance.
