The European Parliament and the Council have recently reached a provisional agreement to reinforce the Renewable Energy Directive, including by raising the general renewables target to 42.5% by 2030 with an indicative top-up of 2.5%. A sufficient and adequately skilled workforce will be critical to ensure this accelerated deployment of renewable energy solutions, with the number of people employed in the EU’s renewable energy sector that will have to grow massively to meet the targets of the Renewable Energy Directive.…
