Solar Heat Europe welcomes G2Energy as its new member

At Solar Heat Europe, we advocate for better conditions for the massive deployment of solar thermal, and we do this with the support of our members. We are thrilled to welcome a new member to our growing network, G2Energy, based in the Netherlands. We look forward to collaborating with them to fulfill the potential of solar thermal in the energy transition for large scale systems such as industry and district heating systems.

G2 Energy is a manufacturer, supplier and installer of solar heating systems supplied directly to end users. With years of experience in the industry, they have proven themselves as experts in large-scale solar heating systems.

The company focuses on medium to large-scale systems ranging from 50 m² to 25,000 m² and even larger. Since 2019, they have realised one of the largest solar thermal projects in the Netherlands to date with a 9,300 m² aperture surface system at a flower grower, and in 2020 have surpassed this with a 15,000 m² system. The success of their drainback system with water, which has proven its reliability for many years, lies in its simplicity and efficiency. This system ensures optimum heat output without risk of freezing, overheating or pressure build-up, even during breakdowns or decommissioning. The result is a highly reliable and low-maintenance system for various applications, such as hot process water and domestic hot water.

They manufacture the collectors in-house in the Netherlands, which allows us to respond flexibly to their customers’ requirements and move quickly to realise even the most complex projects. All collectors have the Solar Keymark certificate. To achieve optimal performance for their systems they are constantly innovating the collectors and solar boilers. They are currently working hard on the development of seasonal buffering.

“After we completed a solar thermal system, a customer told us:

‘Without the solar water heater we would have gone bankrupt in the middle of the gas crisis’.

Common comments also include:

‘I didn’t expect the system to generate so much energy’

‘the solar water heater system has made significant savings on our gas consumption’.

These responses are the drive for me to bring solar thermal to the attention of even more companies and organisations to reduce the use of fossil fuels which contributes to reducing CO₂ emissions.” – Frank van der Schaaf, Sales Manager.
