Brief

The laundry, which opened its doors in the late 1970s, is one of the largest interhospital laundries in Bretagne, France. It has embarked on an ambitious renovation and modernization program for its equipment. Processing 14 tons of linen per day, the laundry is a major consumer of gas for its hot water production. By choosing solar thermal energy, they have opted for a renewable and locally sourced energy production solution.

Technology

A solar thermal installation helps reduce energy expenses related to hot water production. The total gross surface area of the 126 solar collectors is 308 m². These are installed using on aluminum frames with galvanized steel bases anchored to a bituminous coated flat roof. The collectors are tilted at 30° from the horizontal and facing South.

Financial structure

With an initial investment of 631 k€ including tax and a subsidy of 262 k€, the owner will benefit from fixed-price energy for at least 20 years.
