Brief
GASOKOL has equipped the roof of a chicken fattening farm in Kirchberg am Walde with a solar thermal system with 235 kW. The solar thermal collectors from GASOKOL generate 30% of the heat demand of the year. As a result, the wood chip boiler is less in operation, which results in longer maintenance intervals and lower costs over the entire life of the plant. Every year, 20 t of CO2 and wood chips can be saved. In summer, surplus energy is used to dry the wood chips, which increases the energy yield and reduces heating costs.
