Brief
Mürzzuschlag is a town in northeastern Styria, Austria, where the feasibility of a large solar thermal system combined with storage for the Mürzzuschlag heating network was demonstrated in order to decarbonise the energy supply mix and reduce dependence on energy imports.
Technology
Since 2022 they benefit from 6.850 m² solar collector surface, which 816 m² are from GASOKOL; in specific the model GASOKOL powerSol 136. The solar installation supplies the heat requirement of 420 apartments, by delivering 4.8 MW of heat output. Thanks to this installation 930 tons of CO₂ per year are avoided.
