The HP4INDUSTRY project aims at decarbonizing industrial heating and cooling by promoting heat pump and other renewable heating solutions such as solar thermal and geothermal, for low- and medium-temperature industrial processes. By integrating HP and alternative heat sources such as waste heat, solar thermal, and geothermal energy, the project develops efficient and scalable heating and cooling solutions. It focuses validating solutions in key sectors and replicating them across industries, while maintaining industrial competitiveness through heat decarbonisation, which can lead to significant energy and costs savings.
The HP4INDUSTRY targets 3 key sectors: food and drink, pulp and paper, and chemical sectors, providing replicable models to support their transition to low-carbon industrial process heat. It follows a three-phase approach: gathering and analysing industrial data, developing and validating solutions for selected sectors, and replicating and sharing these solutions across a broader range of industries.
