Solar Heat Europe is looking for a Communications and EU Projects Assistant!

This is a 6-month trainee position under the Eurodyssey programme. If you are interested in applying, you can do so through the Eurodyssey website.

We are looking for a “Communication and EU Projects Assistant” to assist in the implementation and coordination of EU-funded projects under the responsibility of Solar Heat Europe, as well as contribute to the organisation’s communications strategy and outreach activities.

Project Management tasks include:

– Supporting the organisation and development of project activities, including stakeholder engagement and deliverable preparation

– Assisting with administrative and reporting tasks related to EU project requirements

– Supporting project acquisition efforts and contributing to project proposal writing

– Participating in project meetings

– Contributing to the preparation of project deliverables and presentations

Communications tasks include:

– Assisting in the development and updating of Solar Heat Europe’s website content, as well as other websites managed by the organisation

– Drafting and scheduling posts for the organisation’s social media channels (LinkedIn, Bluesky, etc.)

– Supporting the organisation and promotion of events (both virtual and in-person)

– Assisting in the preparation and dissemination of the quarterly newsletter

– Helping to create and design communication materials (e.g., brochures, infographics, presentations)

Location: Brussels, Belgium

Work schedule: Monday to Friday from 9h00 to 6h00

Traineeship duration: Approximately 6 months

Profile of the trainee
Qualifications

– Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Humanities, International Relations, EU Policies, Communications, Journalism, or any other related field

– Previous experience in communications and/or project management is considered an asset

– Good understanding of EU institutions and decision-making processes

Personal and social skills

– Proactive, critical thinker, flexible, and solution-oriented

– Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

– Capacity to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously

– Strong time management and organisational skills

– Excellent written, verbal and digital communication skills

Language skills

– Fluent/native-level English (C1/C2)

– Knowledge of French or any other EU language is considered an advantage

Information Technology (IT) skills

– Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneDrive)

– Working knowledge of online meeting platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, etc.)

– Practical understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube)
