Solar Heat Europe’s team is growing! Meet Lucia and Alba, our newest colleagues

We are happy to welcome two new professionals in our Brussels-based team: Lucia Torlai, who joins Solar Heat Europe as a Junior EU Projects Officer, and Alba Garriga, taking on the role of Communications and Membership Officer.

Lucia is originally from Italy and is based in Brussels since 2021. She holds a master’s degree from Leuven University and an advanced master’s in European Studies from the Brussels School of Governance, where she specialised in EU Environmental Policy. Before joining Solar Heat Europe, Lucia joined the Bruegel think tank, where she gained valuable experience in project management and member acquisition. She then completed an eight-month Schuman traineeship in the European Parliamentary Research Service (EPRS), where she contributed to policy research evaluating existing EU legislation. Lucia is fluent in English and Italian and has an intermediate level of French.

Alba is Spanish and she graduated in Journalism in Barcelona. During her studies, she completed an internship in the news department of the Spanish public television, where she worked in the politics section. She also holds a master’s degree in Strategy and Creativity in Advertising. After finishing her studies, she worked in a communications agency in Barcelona, where she improved her skills in public relations. In 2024, she moved to Brussels for a traineeship at CETAF, a European network advocating for the recognition of taxonomy and systematic biology. There, she gained experience with EU projects. Alba is fluent in Spanish, English, Catalan, has an intermediate level of French and speaks some German.

We are thrilled to have Lucia and Alba on board and look forward to their contributions advancing Solar Heat Europe’s mission!
