Solar Heat Europe is happy to welcome the Portuguese national association AFIQ.ER as its new member. AFIQ.ER is an employers’ association set up to defend the interests of manufacturers and importers of firing equipment, which has now evolved into solar thermal.

This evolution of the AFIQ.ER association has taken place as the market has evolved, while maintaining the same market operators. As there is no Portuguese association for solar thermal, the association has seen this positive development for its members. Overall, AFIQ.ER understands itself as an association for the defence of solar.

With the Fit for 55 package introducing several legislative proposals aiding the uptake of solar heat, an implementation at national level is now absolutely key. Therefore, we are glad to have another national association on board to collaborate with regarding these crucial next steps to advance the rollout of solar thermal and of the European Green Deal.
