Renewable heating and cooling in the Italian energy system

Renewable heating and cooling in the Italian energy system

Note: The event will be in Italian.

The energy and climate crises have shown Europe that a faster development and deployment of renewables is crucial. Heating & cooling represents half of the energy demand in Europe and direct renewable heat solutions have a great potential to ensure a faster decarbonisation of the sector if supported properly through political measures.

In this context, Solar Heat Europe is organising a national roundtable in Italy, a country affected by the energy crisis due to its dependency on imported gas, addressing energy security, heat decarbonisation, and the use of decentralised heating solutions that are already available today.

The event will take place on October 27th from 10h00 to 12h00 CET and registration is already possible here.

The event will tackle the opportunities and challenges for research & development, as well as deployment efforts for renewable heating and cooling technologies applied at large scale in Italy. The event aims to bring together stakeholders from the energy sector and improve collaboration for applied research and pilots of large-scale direct renewable heat systems for district heating and industry. The event will be moderated by Riccardo Battisti from Ambiente Italia.

The roundtable is part of a series of events supported by the European Commission under the umbrella of the Renewable Heating and Cooling European Technology Innovation Platform (RHC-ETIP).
