Solar Heat Europe is glad to announce its next Advisory Council meeting, which will take place in Brussels, on June 27th , from 11h00 to 16h00.
The solar heating & cooling sector has faced a difficult period over the last 10 years. It has gone from record
sales in 2008 to a steady decline until 2017, with a small recovery in 2018. Over this period the market has
undergone great transformation, with strong consolidation in the sector but also development in new
market segments.
In a fast changing energy system the market conditions are changing at an unprecedented pace. Our
technology is now competing with new technologies and new business models. The push for the
electrification of heating and cooling is certainly a threat. Nevertheless it also opens opportunities. The same
can be said for the emphasis on energy efficiency in buildings or for the development of smart cities.
Solar Heat Europe’s daily business is to guarantee that companies dealing with solar thermal will find the
conditions to thrive in this challenging market. This includes strategic debates among the main market
actors, interacting with the European institutions and other relevant stakeholders in order to identify and
promote opportunities for the sector in Europe and export markets.
