Solar Heat Europe had the opportunity to meet with members of several Working Groups of Eurocities on 26 April on the occasion of their Environment Forum around the energy crisis. Together with other speakers addressing the importance of biodiversity and greening of rooftops, our Managing Director Valérie Séjourné gave a presentation to portray the benefits of solar thermal, its many different applications, and the key role that cities can play to inform end-users, help provide land, expertise, subsidies, and skills. More than 80 representatives from cities all over Europe were present.

Follow up work will be organised with members of Eurocities, as well as with the Covenant of Mayors with whom two webinars are being organized this spring, of which one took place on May 17 and the upcoming one will take place on 5 June.

This initiative goes hand in hand with the work that Solar Heat Europe does with Energy Cities on joint projects and joint advocacy.
