Recently published reports show interesting and promising trends in the solar thermal market.
In Europe is summer period, and sun is not just shining in the sky but also in recent scientific publications. According to two prominent reports, Solar Heat Worldwide 2019 and the Solar Thermal Barometer, the solar thermal market is showing positive increase.
This year Solar Heat Worldwide report, published by the International Energy Agency’s Solar Heating and Cooling Programme (IEA SHC), stresses how our technology is a game changer in the energy transition, and in particular shows a huge growth in solar heat for industrial processes (SHIP) and a continuous growth in total installed capacity worldwide. Solar Thermal is having strong annual sales in half of its main world markets making this technology a great solution to achieve climate neutrality.
Another interesting report is the Solar Thermal Barometer published this July by EurObserv’ER. The report presents a detailed coverage and quotes several stakeholders in the field. Furthermore, it considers different country contexts and market segments as solar district heating and solar process heat. The document is also looking into future developments, giving a hint of large-scale systems planned and making reference to financing and R&I issues.
These trends are also supported by Solar Heat Europe’s Preliminary Market report, which indicates a combined growth of year-on-year sales of 9.6% in the top ten European markets.
