UA-Energy – Austria, which will chair the EU, call for an increase in the target for RES to at least 35% – Ukrainian

The coalition of industry, from solar to geothermal and biomass, called on the Austrian government in the EU to support the target for renewable energy sources to be at least 35% by 2030, because they believe that this will provide a stable environment for investors.

“Austria has demonstrated great ambitions as a leader in renewable energy,” the industrial coalition said in a letter dated 28 March to the Minister of Sustainable Development and Tourism of Austria Elizabeth Kostinger and Chancellor of the country Sebastian Kurtz. Austria takes over the presidency of the EU on July 1.

“We believe that your presidency will be an opportunity to achieve energy transition in Europe,” says a letter from the European Media Platform, which specializes in online publications on European politics.
