National solar trade associations meet to discuss the implementation of the package label

As part of the European project LabelPack A+, a meeting of national associations was organised on the 29th of November 2017, to discuss the “Labelpack A+: The package label implementation at national level”.

This meeting was an opportunity to discuss the developments since the last meeting, in June 2016, in what regards the implementation in several relevant solar thermal markets of the energy labelling regulations for space and water heaters and in particular the package label. The timing is relevant, the Labelpack A+ project is in its final stages and, more importantly, the review process of Lot 1 and Lot 2 is underway.

This meeting was attended, besides from project partners and Solar Heat Europe secretariat, by representatives of Belgium, Cyprus, Greece, Spain and Poland. During this meeting, project partners shared some of the findings of Labelpack A+, covering countries such as Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal and the United Kingdom.

The goal was to have a common reflection on the relevance of the package label and how to learn from the experiences in the different countries in order to make some proposals regarding its improvement, namely in the ongoing review process of the regulations for space and water heaters.

In particular, inputs from participants were relevant to improve some of the reports being prepared by the project, namely in terms of relevant options for the review of Lot 1 and Lot 2 and its relevance for different stakeholders in the process, such as manufacturers, installers, consumers and public authorities.
The outcomes of this work will be available in the first quarter of 2018.
